Downtown Providence Styled Elopement
I like to do a lot of my stylized shoots during the winter when my schedule tends to open up a little. But as most people know, organizing anything during March in New England can be a challenge. After planning today’s shoot for over a month, last night news hit that a huge snow storm was coming and it completely changed the whole course of the day.
Winter did not care that I organized this shoot today and things started a little sketchy with the weather and just got worse as the snow came down harder. I needed models, hair & makeup, videographer, and florist to all show up, and I wasn’t sure what or who was going to be able to come.
My hairdresser, all the models, and the other photographer I was going to team up with all let me know that they didn’t think they could make the trip in the snow. I was so stressed and was honestly just ready to cancel the whole thing.
That’s when my sister Tori and her boyfriend said they would stand in as the wedding couple, and as always, her best friend Jess was there to help out and throw on a wedding dress! The makeup artist, Moriah Cross, came from Worcester and was amazing! She did Tori & Jess’s makeup, and my sister Tess jumped into style the hair.
It can be a little awkward taking stylized pictures in the city with everyone walking by, but all the people we met on our walk seemed to love that we were taking the pictures and thought Liam and Torii were getting married! We jumped into alleyways, went into bookstores, walked in the middle of the street, and celebrated with champagne at the Arcade.
